Paragliding Tandem Flying

Enjoy aerial views of Carmona-Cavite or Binangonan Rizal over Laguna Lake on a 10-15 minute scenic paragliding flight near Metro Manila in Philippines.

Flying with an experienced tandem pilot, you’ll discover the beauty of flight on Philippines highest commercial paragliding tandem.

You will take off 100 m with fluent lift. And fly up close to cloud(depends on weather condition) and take in amazing views of the surrounding jungle s and mountains.

A gentle descent or thrilling aerobatics, the choice is yours before landing softly next to your car.

The Launch…

After a short safety briefing and equipment check, the launch is as simple as a few quick steps down the hill.

In the air, our harnesses are extremely comfortable and you will be able to talk with your pilot during the entire flight.

The Flying Experience…

There is nothing that comes close to the experience of flying in a paraglider. We feel its about as close as you can get to flying like a bird.

You can hear the sound of wind flow over the mountain, see the birds flying, take in the amazing views of the Southern part of Manila.

We will continue to make a gentle descent into landing softly on the top or grass field. The entire flight time can range between 10-15 minutes depending on conditions.

Paragliders are remarkably maneuverable aircraft, can be looped upside down and reach up to 6G in a spiral.

If you are interested, your pilot can offer an adrenaline pumping aerobatic experience at the end of the flight.

Happiness of Paragliding

Having three tattoos – all symbolising FREEDOM, flying high was something that has always been close to me. Being an adventure freak what better place than Billing to have my own flight of fantasy – a Paragliding experience.

Located almost around 30 minutes from Bir – home to a Tibetan refugee settlement with several Buddhist monasteries and a large stupa, the beauty of Billing , lies in its scenic beauty and the surrounding mountains and dense forests.

The experience of Tandem Paragliding in Billing gives completely new feeling as you see yourself-flying like a happy bird over the Dauladhar mountain range –an experience to remember for lifetime. The magnificent view of the mountain and the seasoned gliders coming here during the flying time have made this place as one of the most sort after paragliding spot in the country. (The Paragliding World Cup India 2015 is being held here this year from 23rd to 31st October 2015)

As you make you way up there with your glider up towards the sky, the experience sure is gonna give you a paradigm shift. It was going to my first paragliding experience ever – my first ever leap of faith that I would be taking with my seasoned glider Amit. With shute loaded, all locks perfectly checked, all I knew was that I had to jump at the count of 3 and 1, 2, 3 I was already UP there. All it takes it is that one jump over the ledgeIt was a moment of perfect and pure ecstasy. I knew my skilled instructor would give me the best experience of my life – a bag full of memory to carry back.

It felt like I have spread my wings far and wide, till where my imagination could take me and my tandem guy Amit was an expert and he just knew the right kind of view that would enchant me. It was fourty minutes of sheer ecstasy. Once you are there amidst the clouds, making your way around them, kissing and saying a Hello, at that point nothing else matters. The sound of the wind brush passes you while you are seated comfortably up there, yet flying and all I could do was scream in excitement. It was my moment of ultimate happiness.

As I saw other gliders fly past me, Amit asked would I like to get a bit adventurous and try some somersaults. How could the child in me say a NO. I was all charged for that feel and zip-zap I toppled- turned all over in the sky. A feeling for which words fall short to express.

With my heart still pounding I had my landing and with few deep breaths, I gathered myself.  I felt that I had I just come back from my journey back from heaven. With this feeling of freedom it’s time to move on and conquer the world.

Amit was my MAN who gave me “That flight of fantasy”

Unforgettable Memory

Flying with tandem paragliding is the most ideal, enjoyable, and safe way to fly. Fly over the Roman countryside sustained by smooth ascension air currents is an amazing experience for everyone! The first fly with paragliding is an unforgettable memory for the rest. We can try to describe it with 1000 words, but it is useless…you just have to try and see for yourself!

Tandem paragliding Rome

There is no jump into the void, no fear or vertigo, only an amazing relaxing sensation. Flying with paragliding under the guide of our highly experienced pilots is an intense experience where serenity and admiration are the dominant emotions. It is like a dream to try at least once in your life. In addition, it is a very special and unique gift to give and share for unforgettable moments such as weddings, anniversaries, degrees, birthdays, and other special moments.

Tandem paragliding in Rome is practiced on several takeoffs about one hour distance from the city. The weather forecasts are the principal choice for the takeoff selection. Indeed, good weather condition are at the base of an amazing EXPERIENCE. From every takeoff site it is possible to see the wonderful Roman countryside and in some cases ancient Roman buildings.

The adventure begins meeting the pilot that will bring you to the selected flying site. He will give you all the necessary information and will show you the paraglider and the flying principles. Once at the the takeoff site, the pilot will do a brief meteorological lesson and of course the takeoff briefing. And then…

one deep breath…one, two, three steps…. and off we fly!

The Sky Experience tour is normally a half day long and the fly time is about 30 minutes per person with a maximum of 2 people per pilot. It is a very exclusive experience and, if there are favourable conditions, the duration of the flight can be long as you want: remember that our pilots love to fly. This is an experience to live and to share with friends through the high resolution video cut and edited like the example in gallery section.

The flying can be interrupted in every moment if the passenger needs. And with favourable conditions the passenger can also try to pilot a paraglider!

Towards the end of the paragliding experience it is time to land softly and to start dreaming of the next flight!

My bucket list

A couple of weeks ago I did cross one off the bucket list when I flew a paraglider for the first time. I’ve always been fascinated by early flight and by very minimalist kinds of flying, and paragliding is about as minimalist as you can get. There’s you, the wing (which is what these kinds of “parachutes” really are), the sky and the earth. With just a few pounds of equipment, an experienced paraglider can spend hours aloft, sometimes traveling a good distance, maybe even hundreds of miles, in the process. It’s about as close to flying like a bird that you can get (though wingsuit enthusiasts might see it differently).

It happens rarely, but in this case I can identify exactly what inspired me to want to strap on a parachute-thingy and ply the winds. Somehow, about three years ago, I found a YouTube video showing dozens of paragliders surfing the updrafts in a competition in a remote part of Mexico. The sight was remarkable. Not only was it beautiful to see, the brightly colored wings against a backdrop of dark green mountains, but it also looked like great fun, too. More than fun, really, though I’m not sure what to call that sort of reward. We pilots all know the feeling.

To learn a little about the sport and give it a try, I took the advice of my friend Tom Peghiny, who’s been flying ultralights since before there was landing gear involved. He suggested I get ahold of the folks at Eagle Paragliding in Santa Barbara, California, who’ve been giving this type of instruction for 20 years. So I did, and a few weeks later I was on the hill, a gorgeous hill overlooking the Pacific Ocean a half mile away, getting to know my instructor for the day, Drew Quine. Drew quit a high-tech desk job to teach paragliding full time while also working toward a commercial helicopter pilot’s certificate. He liked the scenery in both lines of work better than a cubicle.

A paraglider wing is a parachute with compartments running chord-wise that fill with ram air and thus stiffen up into an airfoil shape. The paraglider pilot, which was soon to be me, is attached to the wing by a harness connected to it with dozens of cords, which you need to understand and be able to manipulate, though truth be told, there are very few controls at the pilot’s disposal. Flying a paraglider, in fact, is not much like flying a plane at all, so my instincts for how to do most everything were mostly wrong and occasionally the exact opposite of what I should have been doing. But not everything, For example, you turn by killing lift on the side of the wing pointing toward the turn, which is pretty much how it works on a fixed-wing plane. Advanced maneuvers, like getting into lift and, thus, climbing and doing sharp turns and sudden descents, are riskier and were in the future. My goal on my first day was pretty much to glide to a survivable landing.

Drew showed me the ropes, and before long I was doing something called “kiting,” which is the first fundamental “flying” skill a paraglider needs to learn. It consisted of me running on solid ground while figuring out how to keep the wing inflated and above me so I could, at some point, launch down the really big hill I was looking out over.

The flying part happened fast. I was nervous about it, but Drew was confident that I could do it and live to tell the tale. On my last kiting practice run, I just kept moving forward toward the edge of the hill, and as the hill started to drop off below me, I continued running until my feet found nothing but air, and I was flying. My first flight, during which I got maybe 250 feet AGL, lasted less than a minute, but it was transformative. I made three flights in all, and each one was longer and better than the last.

The good news was that flying was way easier than kiting, and I hit my target landing area all three times—well, pretty close to it, anyways. Will I go paragliding again? You bet. But it won’t in any way replace my regular flying. They’re completely different activities that scratch completely different itches.

In any case, now it’s on to my next bucket list item. Hmmm, getting checked out in a T-6 sounds like fun. Hope I can do it before I add more items to the list. But what are the chances of that?

Wonderful X-Mas Party & Happy new year
